Gymkhanas are held on the second Sunday of the month, except when noted.

Antelope Valley Desert Riders (AVDR) Gymkhana will run under the
California Gymkhana Association (CGA) rules and the following additional rules.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH MEMBER TO KNOW THE AVDR AND CGA RULES

MEMBERSHIP: Every rider must be a member of CGA in good standing.  You do not have to have an annual AVDR membership to ride at AVDR
Gymkhanas, but you do have to purchase a one month membership in order to comply with insurance regulations.  A one month membership
entitles you to ride in any AVDR event for one month and to receive the AVDR newsletter for one month.  Annual memberships are based on the
calendar year.  Memberships are due in January and expire in December.  New riders to AVDR who sign up at the beginning of the show season
(near the end of the year) will also be included in the following year's membership.

YEAR END AWARDS: Year end divisional awards are given to riders for the show season that runs September through July. You must be an
annual member of AVDR and compete in all of the regular events at each show, in at least 7 out of 11 shows and
volunteer at least
one half of one event per show
throughout the show season to be eligible for year-end awards. Riders may not 'purchase' shows to be eligible for
Year End awards. Divisional awards (FC, A, AA, AAA) will be based on the riders declared division. It is advantageous to the rider for year end
awards to declare themselves in the fastest division where they are receiving the majority of their times.  New members attending their first show
will be allowed to change their division at their first show only.  The new rider?s points will only be recorded in the final division they declare.
Division changes throughout the year must be completed at sign-up to qualify for that day?s show.  Points from other divisions will not be
combined and
will not move up with the rider to the next division.

SIGN UPS: Riders may pre-register by sending a completed sign up sheet and payment to: 3223 West Avenue N-3, Palmdale, CA  93551.  Those
who pre-register will receive a discount on ride fees (see sign up sheet).  The pre-registration forms must be received in the club?s mailbox the
day prior to the gymkhana in order to be considered a discounted registration.  Each horse/rider combination must be signed up separately on an
individual entry form for AVDR and CGA. If you scratch out of an event, you must get a credit slip or refund from the show secretary.  The credit
can only be used for the next month?s show or it will be considered void.

Sign-ups on the day of the show are closed 15 minutes prior to the show start time for the first event.  Entries that are turned in after the 15
minute cut off will not be able to compete in the first event of the day, but may still compete in the remainder of the days scheduled events.

GENERAL RULES (See the CGA Rule Book for additional rules):

+ You may ride as many horses as you want for year end awards. However, AVDR placings for year-end awards are based on each horse/rider
combination. A horse may be ridden only once in each event. A single horse cannot be shared by more than one rider.  No horse substitutions will
be allowed with out a certificate from a vet and then only for AVDR year end awards, no substitutions are allowed for CGA times.

+ The judge's decision is always final.  A judge may decide if a horse is unfit to enter the arena and participate in the event.

+ No un-sportsmanlike conduct will be tolerated.  Please treat the show personnel with patience and respect. They are all volunteers.

+ Attire must conform to CGA rules.  Pants, button or snap closure collared shirts, belt, and boots are required.  Shirts must be tucked in and long
sleeves must be rolled down and buttoned.  Boots must have at least a ½" heel and a smooth sole.  Waffle sole boots and tennis shoes are not
permitted. Helmets are STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. Clothing violations will result in a 1 second time penalty for each run in violation.

disqualification from the show.

RETURNED CHECK POLICY:  If a check is returned for Non-Sufficient Funds or Account Closed, there will be a fee of $20.00 due to AVDR.  NO
AVDR points or awards will be given to the rider until the matter is cleared.  If the check is not paid within 10 days of notification, the
rider/family/check writer will be precluded from participation in further shows and the check will be turned over to the District Attorney?s Office for
collection.  Note: Club financial matters are not considered confidential.  A financial report is provided in each newsletter to keep the membership
informed of the financial status of the club.

COMPLAINT POLICY: Any issue-concern-complaint must immediately be brought to the attention of two of the following: CGA Judge or Board
Member.  The complaining party will complete a Complaint Form and address the issue/concern/complaint immediately.  If the issue-concern-
complaint cannot be resolved immediately it will be continued to the next board meeting.  All parties must be in attendance at the board meeting to
discuss the item or the issue/concern/complaint will be considered resolved.
